Condolences to Family of Ex-President of AITAA Brunei Chapter

Asian Institute of Technology Alumni Association (AITAA) Headquarters shares the sad news of the demise of a fellow alumnus Mr. Yong Foh Fui from Brunei who passed away on 21 January 2015. Mr. Yong Foh Fui graduated from Division of Environmental Engineering at AIT in 1975. He was AITAA Brunei Chapter President for many years.

AITAA would like to express the deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the family of Mr. Yong Foh Fui. We also offer our prayer to God to hasten the journey of his soul to Heaven.

Farewell Party for AITAA Program Officer

AITAA organized a farewell party for Mrs. Elenita Cervantes Ortinero, AITAA Program Officer, on 16 December 2014 at the Water View Restaurant. Mrs. Elenita joined AITAA in September 2007 as Assistant Program Officer, and was promoted to Program Officer in 2008. For more than 7 years of excellent services, the AITAA Executive Committee members thanked and acknowledged her contributions to AITAA. Meeting with Mr. Kiran Dongol, President AITAA Nepal Chapter

Mr. Kiran Dongol, President of AITAA Nepal Chapter, and HQ President Mr. Thanin Bumrungsap had a meeting on 30 November at Himalaya Residence in Soi Sukhumvit 31 where Mr. Dongol stayed. Mr. Dongol could not make it to the AITAA GBM in Manila. However, on his way back, he stopped over in Bangkok and Mr. Thanin met him for a brief updating about the outcome of the 43rd GBM. Karma Rana also joined as he was waiting to bring him (Mr. Dongol) to the AIT campus after the said meeting.

AITAA Induction Ceremony during the Grad Night of the 122nd Graduation of AIT

AIT Alumni Association Executive Committee Members joined the Grad Night organized by AIT Student Union on Friday, 12 December 2014. AIT Student Union President - August 2014 Semester, Mr. Abhishek Bahadur Shah welcomed all attendees to the Grad Night. The 43rd AITAA Governing Board Meeting (GBM) was held on 22nd November 2014 at the Pan Pacific Hotel in Manila, Philippines. The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of honorable guests including His Excellency Fidel Valdez Ramos, the 12th President of the Philippines, His Excellency Prasas Prasasvinitchai, Ambassador of Thailand to the Philippines, His Excellency Dr.

Survey of Your Opinion about AIT Alumni Expats Get-together

Dear Expatriate Alumni of AIT Residing in Thailand,

In the recent past, AIT Alumni Association (AITAA) used to organize annual get-together of expatriate alumni residing in Thailand which was a purely social event including the alumni’s family members. The event has been discontinued for a few years.

2014 AIT Alumni Golf Event

It was a successful golf event to raise fund for charitable organizations, Friends of AIT Foundation, AITAA, and AITAA (Thailand). The event was held on 10 July 2014 at Cascata Golf Club with shotgun start at noon. The weather was cloudy to mostly cloudy all the afternoon. The party and awarding ceremony began around 1800 hours by Mr.Supachai Rakpanichamanee, Vice President of AITAA (Thailand), invited Dr.Subin Pinkayan, President of Friends of AIT Foundation, to have the opening speech for the session.

New Assignment of Minister of Executive Yuan and Vice Mayor of New Taipei City Government

We are very pleased to share two great news from Taiwan as follows:

Mr. Jack Chun-Yat Hsu, AIT class of 1983 - Division of Geotechnical & Transportation Engineering, has been promoted to be the Minister of Public Construction Commission Executive Yuan, effective 2nd of July 2014. Prior to this, Mr. Hsu had been the Administrative Deputy Minister for 1 year in Ministry of Transportation and Communications and the Director of AITAA ROC Chapter.
